Audio Streaming
There are many different approaches to deploying audio streams via the internet. A constant or fixed stream as used on Internet Radio services are a useful means of broadcasting but offer little in the way of interactivity. Streaming audio from shared audio collection on a LAN is a popular way of sharing music collections in a household or business and, as with internet radio, there are various protocols that each have different degrees of functionality. Audio streaming of information rather than music offers a lot of potential for the future; the rise in popularity in 'Podcasting' has ensured this.

Rural Surround can advise you on the most appropriate means of deploying your audio stream. We have developed custom systems based on our own technologies that can manage, deploy and monitor audio content. An industry leading example of this is blueIRIS, an information system for the visually impaired that was developed for the Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre Society for the Blind and funded by the LDDA.
